About Us

Our Scout Groups

Scouting in Buckingham, Winslow and District centres around eleven groups and Explorer units.

The eleven groups are based around North Buckinghamshire, based in Buckingham, Maids Moreton, Tingewick, Steeple Claydon, Great Horwood, Winslow, Stewkley, Granborough/North Marston, Grendon & Edgcott, Quainton and Marsh Gibbon. The Explorer units are based primarily in Buckingham, Winslow, Grendon & Edgcott and Calvert.

If you’re looking for scout groups elsewhere in the UK visit www.scouts.org.uk.

Our Volunteers

Each group relies on volunteer leaders and helpers to keep it going – if you think you might be able to help out, see our volunteering page.

The Scout District

All of the above are part of Buckingham, Winslow and District, and are led by a District Commissioner and a team of other volunteers with specialist areas of responsibility. We also have a District Executive Committee, which agrees the high-level strategy for the district, as well as preparing the annual budget (so they are a bit like the Governors in a school).

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
